Spiral Dynamics Integral
But I was doing some research on brain development in children and came across this concept of how humans have developed in terms of their brain function over time. Its a kind of human psychological evolution for want of a better term.
If you have a couple of hours of free time please listen to the video you never know it might be one of those life changing decisions. As for me I'm intrigued and will certainly buy the books.

Further Thoughts on Coalition Cuts
How convenient of Labour to have provided a mess for the Coalition to clear.
The fact that business are showing profit growth is in part due to the fact that the real economy was fairly stable the failing of the banks is the main reason for the previous recession.
The Coalition should be taking a social not a financial measure of their actions. We tend to concentrate to much on the financial rather than the social effects of policies in the country.
1981 saw a backlash against Tory policies under Mrs Thatcher;there were riots in major cities including London Liverpool Manchester, and Leeds.
The social costs for these times have still to be paid and unless the Coalition review their policies In crime I'm
afraid that social cohesion will be split and the country will face a massive. increase in crime.

Double Dip Recessions
This is not an accident the Coalition decided not only to begin extensive public expenditure cuts but also talked the economy down.
It appears that fears of a Greek situation lead them to this decision.
The fact that the Labour government had steered the economy through the financial crisis caused by the banking collapse was ignored by the Coalition who after reviewing the books of UK plc decided that a dose of deflation would be good medicine.
Unfortunately they have;inspite of all the critics, including this blogger embarked on the wrong remedy and has put the patient in grave danger.
The Coalition does not have the will of the electorate to carry out these policies and the sooner the Lib Dems. leave the better.

House Prices and The Economy
The issue is that the Coalition felt it necessary to put cut ahead of the economic health of people, once you go along that road, the inevitable fall out will ensue..
What the Coalition has done is to ferment an atmosphere of doom and gloom in order to pick off the push through those policies.
The good news is that the Coalition is still aware that they need the will of their constituency hence the backtracking on milk.
I still believe that once they see the damage that is being done to the real economy, they will backtrack on cuts.
The only relief will be wether the so called export driven recovery actually happens.

Faith
I truly believe that human existence is transient, but to be fair we only know what we know.
Love is an energy that in itself is irresistible, but only to those who understand its nature.
We are all teachers as our life experience is unique.
Why? its' because we never stop learning., faith is only what we choose to believe, until we reach true enlightenment.!
Peace...
__________________________
yes, i agree completely.
but like nature surrounding us,
existence is organic and knowledge is progressive
which is why we never stop learning
choice is an important faculty; love is the reason that creation keeps itself ordered, even a newborn infant child responds to love
in my faith we believe that questions (like 'why') are a sacred attribute
"Love and the gentle heart are one same thing'"(Dante,Vita Nova, cap. 20).
at the risk of being an incomparable wise ass
Why not?
in the Quran, the famous Word from God was " 'Be'and it is"
But I agree every human being has to ask this question, the nature of our existence begs it .
Yes I guess I think I have found the answer to why, I am a member of the Baha'i Faith. Naturally, because of my religious faith I tend to think that the creation makes no sense without a Creator.
I realize many benighted things have been enacted in the name of God, but I believe the Baha'i Faith has a chance t getting right or shall I say more right than we ever gotten it before.
Baha'is beelvie that there is a two fold purpose to existence, knowing God and carrying forth the advancement of civilization.
Baha'u'llah teaches that the divine purpose of creation is the achievement of unity among all peoples:
"Know ye not why We created you all from the same dust? That no one should exalt himself over the other. Ponder at all times in your hearts how ye were created. Since We have created you all from one same substance it is incumbent on you to be even as one soul, to walk with the same feet, eat with the same mouth and dwell in the same land, that from your inmost being, by your deeds and actions, the signs of oneness and the essence of detachment may be made manifest."
So human unity relies ultimately upon love, the giving of it as well as the receiving of it. As long as one does exist isn't it better to spend it in love?
For me the Faith is the way to learn better everyday, how to love.
Who
As I do not believe in traditional hierarchy.
As as result I deeply mistrust all sects and congregations. Humanity has reached a zenith in science, but fails to prevent Human suffering and Poverty.
We are rich but poor good yet bad.
These are the questions I need answers to. Why are we not more sociable, why do we need to be greedy?. Love maybe a notion which can appeal but I do not believe its the total answer.
Life exist organically but that maybe changing, too.?
I like your thoughts though convince me!
Humanity has reached a zenith in science, but fails to prevent human suffering and poverty.
Scientific education without spiritual education leads us exactly to the state you describe . . .there have been movements . . .communism, facism, laissez faire capitalism, systems of royalty, but nothing human beings devise lifts the veil of suffering from a bowdelized humanity. We are without knowledge of God, bereft of the sense that enables us to become a truly altruistic society . . .
God is expansive Infinite and All Knowing, not fundamentalisic or literal . . .we simply cannot know His essence any more than the painting can understands the painter . . . unless He wills it and apparently He does and has, and apparently we aren't the best listeners
what is needed is a universal delivery system that is empowered to overcome the vast inequities that dwell among us . . . i agree that it is ludicrous to live in an age where clean water and abundant food is not delivered to those whose lives are threatened by a lack of same . . .ludicrous!
i believe i have found the impertus of that delivery system. my faith is not a mere belief system, it contains a delivery system . . . .all causes that alleviate the human condition arise from humble origins in great purity . . . our experience has been that they have become tainted by powermongers . . .
either we are a doomed hopeless specie, there is no God or something, something does exist on a higher plane that can and will lead us out of this dismal mess . . .
i simply believe i found it . if I were wrong, i would still prefer to err on the side of the spiritual potential and to act with hope
otherwise my life and all the lives that I desire to celebrate as priceless treasures amount to a mound of dust and we have no purpose or hope or meaning . . .
another look at the infant receiving love, convinces me that this cannot and never will be true.
The Baha'i Faith has absolutely no traditional hierarchy. No clergy. We are governed by elected bodies. Our aim is to support a system of world government.
We have no tradition or real ritual. Baha'u'llah intended this to be a religion for modernity . . .while fulfilling the expectations and prophecies of the old ages (I believe it does that too)
We may tinker with life but i doubt that we as human beings can direct the entire system (of life), there are still far too many mysteries.
Do you feel what I feel ?
Do you see what I see ?
Do you sense what I sense ?
In short do you get the message i'm sending ?
The days are almost at an end
Trying to find reasons for WHY!!
What do you know?
I've discovered may things in the past few years।
Did you know there are more molecules in a cup of water than cupfuls of water in all the oceans.
Did you know that there are more stars in our galaxy than people on this planet.
Now I have found out why!!
We are vessels carrying our identities to future horizons, if you share you survive, if not you don't you disappear in the oblivion called time.
What a beautiful conumdrum, you can make as many copies as you wish, or can cope with,as long as you share, with some one you respect and appreciate, or even loathe?
Take time to think on this now i know you should too.

Thougts on the UK Coalition Tax Cuts
Closing the loopholes would reduce the structural deficit. Moreover the banking crisis exacerbated the economic problems & interrupted the business cycle.
In addition
A large amount of Labour's spending was on upgrading hospital & schools & infrastructure which were neglected during the Tories 18 years of govt.
Tax increases on those who can afford it was the better method because it would have curbed the excessive wages being paid in certain business sectors.
If Labour had another 5 years the country would be a modern 21st Society whereas this govt wish to see us back to an 19h cent.liberal economy.
The majority in this country have no experience of healthcare without ther NHS.
Which is perhaps why there are some on this Blog who seem complacent about the Coalitions proposals.
No matter your political loyalty healthcare should not be a political football its about the health of real people & we should all be responsible for our own & other people as part of decent society.
We are a rich nation (budget deficit or not) & should be everyones right to be able to receive proper care.
If the apologists believe its not sacrosanct then let the Coalition call another election to let the people decide.
When you privatise a business the assumption is that the markets will provide the means by which the patients can be treated.
The Coalition again conned the electorate by not explaining what their plans were.
What I find obscene is that the people who are going to pay for this, are the most vulnerable.
The Coalition have not learnt the lessons of history the reasons for the setting up of the Health service have been forgotten & increasingly I am seeing plans for the return of a more divided society.
Why can't those who earn more pay more. The Treasury has that option but refuse to take it.
The notion that it will strangle innovation is a myth. Have we already forgotten the debacle at the banks.
Class in America
However what should not be condoned is the incessant revision of a history which African Americans "in general" have had to endure.
What is pertinent though is that the narrative presented by Mrs Sherrod in her video is the theme which ALL democrats should now be presenting.
It is all about class nothing to do with race, if we help each other we will all succeed.
Mrs Sherrod has shown the way to counter the RW arguments, its not black or white its poor people that are being abused by the system
If the libertarian path which the TP believe all should follow, why is it that the very obstacles they claim don't exist are always pushed in front of poor people.
Why is it that the beneficiaries of tax cuts are always the 5% of Americans, who are richer than the other 95%.
The path to socio-economic fairness is color blind.”

The not so Strange Case Of Shirley Sherrod
Last March Sherrod a veteran in the department of agriculture gave a speech at a NAACP (National association for the Advancement of Coloured People) Conference, little did she know that her speech would be used as a teachable moment in the game of American Politics.
One the one side we have Fox News, The Tea Party and various Right wing Bloggers , on the other side we have The NAACP, The Obama Administration & The Farmers helped by Sherrod.
NAACP passed a resolution asking the Tea Party to purge the racism in their ranks elements of the Tea Party responded by claiming that The NAACP itself was racist.
One Tea party supporting Blogger Andrew Beitbart went one step further and claimed to have discovered proof that such racism existed. An edited version of a NAACP meeting was posted on his website. This was quickly picked up by other sites and also by Fox News http://mediamatters.org/research/201007220004 The time line indicates that this quickly became viral.
The Administration & NAACP acted to head off any accusation of Racism and condemned Mrs Sherrod the Administration called for and received her resignation.
The following describes the feeling some bloggers had
.The numerical minorities and those without power are always in need of advocacy organizations to protect them from the tyranny of the majority. There are children's rights advocacy organizations but no ADULTS' rights organizations because children are without power. I bet you'd never complain about that.
Unlike the White Citizens Council, now named the Concerned Citizens Council (that also brags about its support of and membership in the t-party movement), the NAACP doesn't advocate for the empowerment of one race over the other or vehemently express the sentiment that African Americans are smarter, more civilized or more human than non-black people. The NAACP exists today because racism against non-black exists today on the micro and the macro levels.
Because peaceful and unarmed Black men & boys (one of whom was mentally handicapped) escaping a flood can be shot by police officers without a hue & a cry from the general public, the NAACP still has a reason to exist. Because a young Black man, while laying down on the pavement with a police officer's knee in his neck , can be shot in the back by another police officer & white people condone it, the NAACP still has work to do.
Because the executives of a giant corporation jokingly referred to African American employees who wanted and DESERVED a promotion as "black jellybeans stuck to the bottom of the bag" (this was tape recorded by one of the executives), we realize the NAACP has a lot of work yet to do.
Because a Black man went to work in the rural south at a company that never had a Black employee before and the employees attempted to lynch him in the bathroom, the NAACP still has work to do.
I could write ten pages of injustices that are happening to people of African descent TODAY in this country that you never knew about because you have the luxury of it not affecting you, or the audacity to downplay its significance
Fortunately Mrs Sherrod was able to disprove the allegations against her because the full video was placed on the internet

Mrs Sherrod can teach us a thing or two!!
